A MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN

The International Association of Jewish Public Safety Employees (IAJPSE) was formed in 2005 with the specific purpose of developing and presenting Training Seminars for Law Enforcement and Public Safety Officers. The impetus for its formation was to be able to be accepted and posted on the Department of Justice approved training webpage; http://www.usdoj.gov/jmd/eeos/events.htm

OUR vision was that one day the Member Organizations would each get the opportunity to host the Training Seminar in their respective cities or regions. Last year, Shomrim of Philadelphia planned and prepared a Training Seminar; AGRO-TERRORISM: CRIMES, INVESTIGATIONS AND PROSECUTION. However, due to health challenges of Merrill Kelem, Past President of Shomrim of Philadelphia, the Training Seminar was postponed twice then presented in Miami rather than Philadelphia.

The IAPSE has only grown stronger from adversity and has risen not unlike the Phoenix rising from its own ashes. WE are so excited that OUR dreams and hard work are converging bringing the vision to fruition. The plans are really on the drawing board not just in cliché. WE have decided that the Training Seminar cycle should be every other year, rather than every year, in order to plan and present the most professional, current and relative training possible. OUR 2011 IAJPSE Training Seminar will be presented and hosted by Shomrim of Northern California in San Francisco, California. This is exciting news yet it does not stop there.

This past June, I traveled to London, England to meet with OUR Brothers and Sisters of the Jewish Police Association (JPA). Matt Shaer, Chairman, along with members of his Board were quite excited and receptive to my presentation. WE are full of joy and pride to announce that the IAJPSE 2013 Training Seminar will be presented and hosted by the JPA in London.

How many of US can say we have made a dream come true. WE, the IAJPSE, can now say with the utmost confidence “WE HAVE.” Together WE will continue to make dreams reality. So much has happened and so much more is possible. I have said it so many times, “Doing the Impossible… Just Takes Longer.”

	Click on the Membership Application, fill it out, mail it in. ALL FEES ARE WAIVED FOR 2010. DO NOT SEND ANY MONEY FOR 2010. Merely fill out the application and send it in. This waiver is, in part, due to the great Conference sponsored by the Shomrim of Philadelphia and the Delaware Valley. Be the next Chapter to sponsor the Training! The Board of Directors has voted to eliminate the Associate Membership position in order to reduce paper-work and bookkeeping in 2010. All individual (Associate) applications will be forwarded to the South Florida Shomrim Society for individual membership, thereby creating the dual membership with them and the IAJPSE.
